To design and build a website which accomplishes the client's purpose for that website.
To design and build a website users find easy to navigate and a pleasure to navigate.
To design a website which is visually compelling and reflects the style and aesthetics of its owner.
To design and build a website that looks good and functions well across all browsers.
These are my goals for any client.
The websites I am building today use W3C standards-compliant techniques such as xhtml 1.0 transitional mark-up language and CSS to maximize cross-browser compatibility, faster download times, and ease of updating that site.
Templates with editable regions and editable attributes are used in site production to create content-rich sites efficiently and make maintenance and updating of those sites as fast and easy as possible.
Most sites I am building today also use coding and techniques which generally make the website 508 compliant, which means the site is generally accessible to non-sighted individuals and others who for any reason might be accessing the site with a screen-reader. Many governmental entities and businesses doing business with governmental entities require sites today which comply with U.S. Section 508. Clients desiring or requiring strict compliance with Section 508 should so specify so that strict compliance can be validated before your site's deployment.
